К обсуждению проекта были привлечены многие известные специалисты по древнерусскому искусству и архитектуре.

Было решено запроектировать фоновым цветом иконостаса белую глазурь, основной акцент декорирования сделать на золото, подчеркивающее русско-византийские орнаменты. Осмотрев храм, он рассказал, где еще ему доводилось видеть изразцовые иконостасы, и отметил, что эта работа — один из наиболее достойных примеров благоукрашения храмов.

За выполненные работы по благоукрашению храма сотрудники мастерской «Гильдия Мастеров» были награждены Святейшим Патриархом тремя орденами, четырьмя церковными медалями и грамотами.

Фасады церкви украшены русско-византийскими орнаментами, выполненные из золоченного фарфора, (общая площадь 550 кв.м). Переделкино находится на территории древнего села Спасское -Лукино, где сохранились памятники архитектуры и культуры, имеющие важное национальное значение. Среди них уникальный соборный храм в честь святого князя Игоря Черниговского и Киевского, который был построен в подмосковном Переделкино на территории резиденции Патриарха Кирилла.

Идею создать церковь с яркими куполами необычной формы и фактуры питерские умельцы из «Гильдии мастеров» позаимствовали у московского Храма Василия Блаженного, что на Красной площади. Построенный в конце 16-го века, он до сих пор радует яркими куполами причудливой формы. Правда, маковицы собора сделаны из железа и просто покрыты разноцветной эмалевой краской. Но по тем временам эти купола считались вершиной церковного зодчества. К слову, архитекторы этого храма дорого заплатили за свою работу. Для того, чтобы они больше никогда не повторили свое прекрасное творение, им, по приказу царя Иоанна Грозного, выкололи глаза.

Главный купол храма высотой примерно с трехэтажный дом и почти десятиметрового диаметра. Основной его цвет ярко-синий. Купол слагается из 24 округлых долек кобальтового цвета, а каждая из них разделена между собой фарфоровыми валиками, которые покрыты специальным керамическим золотом. Это 12-процентный раствор золота в растительных маслах. Он наносится, как краска, кисточкой, а потом его обжигают до 850 градусов. После этого золото как бы прикипает к фарфоровой поверхности и становится не подверженным никаким погодным воздействиям.

Помимо того, что фарфоровые купола красивы, они не гниют и не теряют цвет. Купол Храма состоит из 18 тыс. фарфоровых изразцов, которые сделаны с ювелирной точностью вручную. Сегодня технология изготовления фарфоровых куполов признана уникальной и запатентована как российское ноу-хау. А питерские мастера надеются, что с просьбой возвести фарфоровые купола к ним будут обращаться не только заказчики из России, но и из других стран.

Мне эти изразцовые купола своей праздничной яркостью и разноцветием, сложностью форм напоминают знаменитые пасхальные яйца Фаберже. Все было просчитано на компьютере. Здесь очень сложная металлоконструкция, отсюда и сложная геометрия фарфоровой «чешуи». Дольки должны были совпасть идеально.
